Birmingham’s Kavo may be young but his talent is monumental, as demonstrated on his new track and visuals, ‘Billy x Pain Freestyle’.
As the title suggests, the freestyle is split into two separate parts. The first sees Kavo deliver fire bars over a cruddy drill beat and heavy sub bass. Using clever wordplay and references to famous figures, the young rapper give us an upbeat account of his life in the 0121.
Half way through things switch up. Though Kavo maintains a drill flow, the instrumental is slightly tamer, with more emphasis on the sub-bass than the beat. Though he continues to rap about similar content to the first part of the freestyle, Kavo is noticeably more candid in this latter half of the freestyle, referencing serious topics such as depression and financial trouble.
In the visuals, we see Kavo and his mates entering their local corner shop, before catching a vibe outside. The video accurately captures the artist’s animated and youthful nature, complete with flashy visual effects and transitions.
Considering he’s delivering such impressive bars at his young age of sixteen, we’re excited to see what Kavo brings to the table in the future.
