Everything You Need To Know About Love Island 2021

After a year and a half’s hiatus, Love Island is finally returning to our screens. Find out the answer to all your questions about the upcoming series below.

WHEN DOES LOVE ISLAND 2021 START?

Love Island starts on Monday 28th June 2021. Episodes will be broadcast on ITV2 at 9PM every day besides Saturday. Viewers will also be able to watch episodes live on ITV Hub, or stream them back later.

HOW LONG IS LOVE ISLAND ON FOR?

Although this year’s Love Island has a later start date than usual, it is still expected to last for the full run of eight weeks, meaning it would finish around mid-late August.

WHERE IS LOVE ISLAND TAKING PLACE?

As usual, Love Island is taking place in Majorca, Spain. The villa is located on the outskirts of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, and is apparently COVID-secure.

WHO’S HOSTING LOVE ISLAND 2021?

Laura Whitmore will be hosting the series, whilst her partner Iain Stirling will be returning to his narrating role. Since the last series, the couple have not only got married, but also welcomed their first child together.

WHO ARE THE CONTESTANTS ON LOVE ISLAND 2021?

Kaz Kamwi, 26 – Blogger

Kaz is a fashion blogger on YouTube and TikTok, and describes herself as “fun” and “spontaneous”.

Aaron Francis, 24 – Model & Luxury Events Host

Aaron is a host from London who’s worked at high profile events including Princess Eugenie and Beatrice’s weddings.

Sharon Gaffka, 25 – Civil Servant

Oxford’s Sharon won Miss International United Kingdom in 2018, and studied Law at University.

Toby Aromolran, 22 – Semi-Pro Footballer

Toby is an Essex lad who plays for Hashtag United, and has never had a girlfriend.

Hugo Hammond, 24 – PE Teacher

Hugo is from Hampshire and has played cricket for England’s physical disability team.

Shannon Singh, 22 – Model

You can vote for your favourite couple when advised on the show through the official Love Island app, which is available to download for both Apple and Android devices.

ARE THE CONTESTANTS GETTING PAID?

Reportedly contestants are paid a minimal amount whilst on the show to cover their home expenses (rent, electricity/gas bills etc.).

WHAT HAPPENED ON THE LAST SERIES OF LOVE ISLAND?

The last series of Love Island was broadcast in early 2020, and saw couple Paige and Finley win. The two are still together and now live in Manchester.
