Manchester United fans storm Old Trafford in protest against Glazers

Manchester United fans have stormed the pitch at Old Trafford, in protest against the club’s ownership by the Glazers.

The current protest is the latest in the ongoing anti-Glazer movement (American business men who own the club). This follows their recent failed attempt to start a European Super League, which received mass outrage from footballing fans nationwide.

A protest also took place last Saturday, which saw hundreds of fans voice their opposition of the Glazers’ continued ownership of the club.

Today fans gathered outside of Old Trafford ahead of Manchester United’s match against Liverpool (4:30pm KO), again protesting in favour of the Glazers no longer being in control of the club.

Some fans were able to break through barriers and make their way onto the actual pitch.

Fans were eventually evacuated from the stadium, however according to GMP, scenes turned violent following this.

The match was eventually called off after the police confirmed their belief that it was risky for the event to go ahead as planned.

An investigation is apparently underway regarding violence directed towards police on the scene.
