Meek Mill has found himself under fire after referencing Kobe Bryant’s death in a leaked song.
The rapper’s new single ‘Don’t Worry’ leaked recently, which contained the line: “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe”.
This is of course making reference to the fact that basketball legend Kobe Bryant tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash last year, along with eight others including his daughter, Gianna.
Kobe’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, spoke out about the lyrics on her Instagram story, stating that she found the lyrics “insensitive and disrespectful.”
In a since-deleted tweet, Meek Mill appeared to respond to this.
The rapper later claimed that he had apologised to Vanessa in private.
I apologized to her in private earlier today not to the public…Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving change the subject!

The majority of Twitter seems to be unimpressed by Meek’s actions, many noting how he was prepared to go in “savage” on Vanessa, but didn’t show the same energy for 6ix9ine during their latest beef last week.
Meek mill let 6ix9ine talk crazy in his face, but choose to go back “savage” with Vanessa Bryant? yea get him outta here
