Meek Mill vs 6ix9ine beef explained

On Valentine’s Day 2021, rappers Meek Mill and 6ix9ine had an altercation outside a club.

The two have had longstanding beef the past few years, so we’ve compiled a comprehensive history of their feud, and what happened most recently.

november 2018

In November 2018, 6ix9ine was arrested on racketeering, weapons and drugs charges.

Later that month during an interview, Meek Mill gave his thoughts on 6ix9ine, talking about how he wished he’d advised him against going down the path he went down.

Shortly after this interview, whilst appearing on Meek Mill’s track ‘What’s Free’, Rick Ross made a jab at 6ix9ine.

january 2019

In January 2019, 6ix9ine agreed to testify against his fellow Nine Trey Gangsta Blood gang members.

Meek Mill tweeted that he knew 6ix9ine would testify against his fellow gang members when he was arrested and incarcerated.

february 2019

In February 2019, Meek Mill had a heated exchange with 6ix9ine’s girlfriend, Jade, over the release of his song with Akademiks whilst incarcerated.

Following this, Meek Mill continued to criticise 6ix9ine for his actions.

June 2019

In June 2019, Meek Mill responded to a fan who asked about his opinion on 6ix9ine.

September 2019

In September 2019, when Snoop Dogg posted an image criticising 6ix9ine on his Instagram, Meek Mill was one of many rappers that also commented on the post.

December 2019

In December 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to two years in prison and five years of supervised release.

Later that month during an interview, Meek Mill weighed in on how he used to think 6ix9ine was a good kid.

January 2020

Meek Mill continued to troll 6ix9ine the following year, commenting on a photo posted by his girlfriend in early 2020 when the court ruled that he couldnโ€™t serve the remainder of his prison sentence at home.

April 2020

As a result of the COVID pandemic however, 6ix9ine was released from prison and able to complete his sentence at home.

May 2020

In May 2020, Meek Mill tweeted how 6ix9ine should apologise to the families whose lives he’s ruined by snitching. He went on to also insult 6ix9ine’s new song, ‘GOOBA‘.

That same day, 6ix9ine took to his Instagram Live where he addressed the situation.

Following this, Meek Mill was less than impressed that 6ix9ine would claim to have more “numbers” than him.

The next day, 6ix9ine broke Eminem’s record for the most views in 24 hours on his track ‘GOOBA’. He made a dig at Meek upon hearing this news.

In response, Meek Mill made a vow to “crush” 6ix9ine for the “culture”.

Meek then went on to reference another snitch who ended up getting killed when they got out of prison.

June 2020

In June 2020, 6ix9ine came for Meek Mill for hanging with a snitch.

Later in June 2020, in a since-deleted Instagram post, 6ix9ine taunted Meek Mill, Future and a number of other rappers for never taking the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meek finished the month by “cancelling” Akademiks.

July 2020

In early July 2020, 50 Cent weighed in on the beef. Having had feuds with Meek in the past, he pointed out the hypocrisy of Meek’s snitch stance against 6ix9ine.

6ix9ine then popped up in the comments of Akademik’s post, which led to a response from Meek Mill on Twitter.

A few days later, whilst with 6ix9ine, Akademiks trolled Meek for his last four songs having “flopped”.

In an ensuing IG live, the two trashed Meek Mill, accusing him of being a hypocrite through being “signed to a cop” (Rick Ross) and being managed by a “rat”.

August 2020

In August 2020, 6ix9ine was released from house arrest. In a since-deleted Instagram post of him out and about in New York, he trolled Meek Mill by captioning his lyrics “In the hood everyday b***h Iโ€™m good what I say“.

September 2020 – january 2021

In September 2020, Meek Mill came to Lil Durk’s defence in his own seperate beef against 6ix9ine. Since then things have been pretty silent between the two, with 6ix9ine being mainly occupied with his aformentioned beef with Lil Durk.

What happened on valentine’s day 2021?

The two both appeared to be at the same club on Valentine’s Day.

Meek Mill was getting in his car to leave, however 6ix9ine appeared and an argument ensued. In footage from both sides of the fight, you can hear the two rappers shouting at each other.

From 6ix9ine, we hear accusations of Meek working with the police and having such within his security.

From Meek Mill we hear general insults thrown at 6ix9ine. In a since-deleted Instagram post, Meek Mill claimed he had to spit at 6ix9ine for him to retreat.

Following the altercation, the two continued their argument on social media.

6ix9ine continued his accusations against Meek Mill for associating with the police.

Meanwhile, Meek Mill claimed that 6ix9ine was deliberately waiting for him outside .

what’s the aftermath of the incident been?

Meek Mill has teased what appears to be a new diss-track aimed at 6ix9ine, in which he calls the rapper a “rat”.

American rapper Riff Raff has also waded into the beef, challenging 6ix9ine to a boxing match.
