Paul Ritter of Friday Night Dinner passes away at 54

Actor Paul Ritter, best known for his role on the Channel 4 series Friday Night Dinner, has passed away at the age of 54.

His representative has confirmed that the actor died of a brain tumour, and passed away surrounded by his wife and two sons at their home.

As well as being nominated for Olivier and Tony Awards, Ritter was renowned for his quirky portrayal of Martin Goodman on Friday Night Dinnerthe final series of which aired last year. The show also starred Tasmin Greig, Simon Bird, Tom Rosenthal and Mark Heap.

Ritter is due to appear in a 10th Anniversary retrospective special of the show airing later this year.
