Rapid COVID testing could be used to reopen nightclubs and theatres.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the Government and the NTIA (Night Time Industries Association) are reportedly looking at the possibility of using rapid COVID testing to reopen parts of the economy that weren’t able to function in 2020.
Johnson did emphasise that it’s early days however, and that there are a lot of discussions to be had before such is carried out.
Greater Manchester’s Night Time Economy advisor Sacha Lord appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss the topic. He claimed to have been in shock to have heard the Prime Minister actually mention nightclubs after so long.

After 5 months of talks with the Government, it feels like theatres, live music venues, events, nightclubs etc, are a step closer. The conversation has now moved to reopening. pic.twitter.com/WRAhprBbLf
