University of Manchester issues new accommodation pledge

The University of Manchester has issued a new “accommodation pledge” in response to the student rent strike and Fallowfield tower occupation.

It lists five points:

  1. A reduction in rent
  2. More flexible accommodation agreements
  3. Better maintenance support
  4. Tackling antisocial behaviour
  5. Better study spaces

The pledge has been signed by Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester. You can read the full pledge here.

UoMRentStrike are less than pleased with the offer, having just released a statement on their instagram:
