Manchester MC JE talks dealing with depression, nearly committing suicide, and black people’s attitude to mental health ‘cant talk to the fam about it cause to black people mental health don’t exist…’

JE on his Instagram “I’ve released a track and I haven’t done so in a while, I wanted to release this one because this doesn’t get talked about enough. I’ve been struggling with depression in the last 5/6 years and I’ve honestly made several attempts on my own life, luckily I had someone to pull me back before I fell off the edge, the problem is not many people are as lucky as I am…”

Glad he’s in a good space with the confidence to address the topic. If anyone is going through a similar situation, don’t be afraid to ask for help, there are services across the country and walk in clinics.

JE’s debut EP ‘NEWTON’S LAW’ comes out 15/12 on all music streaming platforms, be sure to show your support, for now listen to ‘OUTBURST 021’ below.

I’ve released a track and I haven’t done so in a while, I wanted to release this one because this doesn’t get talked about enough. I’ve been struggling with depression in the last 5/6 years and I’ve honestly made several attempts on my own life, luckily I had someone to pull me back before I fell off the edge, the problem is not many people are as lucky as I am. To whoever can relate to the song, just know there is always someone to talk to and no matter what happens, don’t think that you can take this on alone because no one is an island no matter who you are. For this one I don’t care about plays or anything like that I just wanna spread my message and hopefully help someone. Please take it in if you have the time. Thankyou. Link in my bio.
