Protest music is an essential music genre. Its beauty lies in its solidarity to recognise the wrong to do right. From Punk to Hip-Hop, music will always unite and teach to a collective mindset.
2020 saw a global response to the Black Lives Matter movement. Thousands of global protests, against the murders of black individuals including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor shook and woke up the world to the reality and prevalence of institutionalised racism. The protests showed that despite personal backgrounds, supporters around the world will fight for justice and equality.
