UPDATE ON COVID-19 INFECTIONS AND DEATHS
20,089 new infections, with 1,631 new deaths today.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POINTS RAISED BY THE PANEL
- PM says up to March 8th, free school meals arrangements for children will remain in place and a promise of £300 million will be invested into aid pupils in catch up tutoring
- PM also says that the week beginning 22 February he will publish a plan showing the route out of lockdown
- Sir Patrick Vallance says although hospital admissions are starting to fall, there is still a long way to go
- Dr Van Tam states that the JCVI advice is that, for children who are extremely vulnerable, there can be a discussion between doctors and parents. But the vaccines have not been authorised for children, he says. He says trials looking at this are under way.
