In a statement, Jesy revealed that the pressures of being in the girl group have severely affected her mental health.

We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold-out shows at the O2.

I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.

She also touched on the struggles she faced whilst being part of the group.

She stated: ‘Being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations really hard.

The official Little Mix account took to both Twitter and Instagram to announce the departure of Jesy and wish her well.

On Twitter, Little Mix vowed to continue as a 3 piece and look forward to their 2021 Confetti tour.

Jesy’s departure comes shortly after a representative announced last month that she would be taking an ‘extended break’ from the band due to ‘private medical reasons.’

Fans took to social media to express their feelings about the situation.

Many saw Jesy leaving as a positive sign of strength, noting that her mental health needed to come first.

We wish Jesy the best for the future and hope this decision aids her mental health.
