Where you can buy records/cassettes and CDs locally during Lockdown 3.0
If any of the lockdowns have taught me anything, it is the importance of shopping locally. It has really changed this shopaholic’s whole ethos and perspective
When you see massive tax-dodging corporations capitalising (not going to name any as snitches get stitches ????) and small businesses FORCED to close their doors, the best thing you can do to help out is to shop around closer to home.
So we at Pie Radio have come up with a comprehensive guide, where you can shop online to help the small businesses from closure. This week, our top local stores in Greater Manchester and the Cheshire area selling music.
Get slidin’ into the DMs of one of these places and we guarantee, you will NOT leave empty-handed as all of these places sell a variety of physical music. We will give you the info on their lockdown services, but we will let them do the talking.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Sadly, not all independent music stores have websites where you can shop online. BUT we are telling you that as soon as this lockdown is over, you should go and check out the other stores listed below. You can still contact these places with any questions or advice, they will be happy to help.
Vinyl Resting Place – sadly NO RANDOM TRIVIA for this place, but they have a Discogs page you can check out here.
Reel Around the Fountain Records – RANDOM TRIVIA: This place AND the store owner have a cameo in the Morrissey biopic England is Mine.
Sifters– RANDOM TRIVIA: This place was made famous by the Oasis track Shakermaker.
Final POINTS
It is never too late to shop local and support small businesses. Especially with Valentine’s Day coming up, or if it’s somebody’s birthday, even if you want to treat a music-loving friend during these hard times, contact one of these places to help you out. Their expert knowledge commonly found with small businesses will always be happy to help you find that perfect music gift, even if it’s a gift voucher, you will be preserving their livelihood.
