London rapper Kasien released his new single ‘HOL TYT’ earlier this month on Cloud X. Kasien was born in South London, grew up between London and Nigeria and has dual Nigerian and Jamaican heritage. He aims to pay homage to this geographical background by reflecting it in his sound. He dropped the track’s official music video on 16th March, check it out below.

Kasien especially celebrates on single ‘HOL TYT’, rapping ‘I just made a come up from my hobby and it feels great’. He makes bold assertions ‘I don’t fall in line’ and ‘Yeah I work for me and mine.’ Kasien’s success means he deserves to boast how he ‘Made it out the gutter now I’m one up mother****r.’

The twenty-nine-year-old dropped his debut EP ‘I Found Paradise In Hell’ in 2020. To summarize his first EP, he said it was about “manifesting the better things in life to become reality, it’s inspired by life. Past, present and future.” Take a listen to the seven tracks here.

Kasien subsequently went on to manifest greatness to become his reality. Since, he has gone on to tour with Northampton rapper Slowthai and Camden singer-songwriter Bakar. He has also featured on records with a wide variety of artists including Mike Skinner of The Streets, South London rapper Flohio, London producer Cadenza, South London singer-songwriter Master Peace, as well as Lagos alté artist Odunsi The Engine. This range in the musical styles of his collaborations demonstrates Kasien’s musical flexibility, while maintaining an identifiable sound. In the light of this skill Kasien has received support from cultural tastemakers i-D, Complex, The Fader and GRM.
