Anderson Paak. and Bruno Mars (AKA Silk Sonic) have dropped their new track and visuals, ‘Leave The Door Open’.

If anybody who knows anything about me, I’ve been a fan of Anderson Paak. since the Venice days, whilst Bruno Mars provided the dance soundtrack to my past uni days. If ever there was a combo that needed to make music together, it’s these two.

This girl’s dream has finally come true since the duo posted on their Insta pages on 26th February that they’d had made an album together, and my excitement couldn’t be contained. In all honesty, my gut instinct was screaming “damn this’ll be good!”

5th March comes around and on my drive to work, I put on their first release ‘Leave The Door Open’ and as expected, the combination of talents did not disappoint.

When interviewed by Zane Lowe, Bruno Mars said Anderson Paak. did the drum track for the song in one take. They also said in the interview that the iconic Bootsy Collins gave them the name of the band as well as MC-ing the album. It’s no wonder the single has topped at No.1 in the US singles chart.

The vibes from both the video and the song are smooth 70s baby maker tones, from the “silky vocals” to the soulful slow jams of their musical prowess. It makes me excited to see what other grooves this dream team have conjured up. The sighing fangirls in the video is the cherry on this soulful cake.

There will be an album review from me very soon about this iconic collaboration. In the meantime, check out the song here
