Slowthai has secured number 1 in the UK Official Charts with his album TYRON.
In an emotional speech delivered on the UK Official Chart Twitter, slowthai notes that when making the album it was “one of the darkest points” in his life. He says he was ‘heavily depressed and considered suicide”, and subsequently dedicates the record to “anyone in a dark place”.

His album features the likes of A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Denzel Curry and James Blake. These artists, all different stylistically, reflect the light and shade brought to this body of work.
The record is separated into two sides:
- Side 1: features more up tempo and heavy tracks such as ‘VEX‘, ‘MAZZA‘ featuring A$AP Rocky, and ‘CANCELLED‘ featuring Skepta.
- Whereas, on Side 2: slowthai delivers more down-tempo, introspective and thoughtful tracks such as ‘i tried’, ‘nhs‘ and ‘feel away‘ featuring James Blake and Mount Kimbie.
TYRON is an incredible body of work, showcasing slowthai’s versatility as an artist.
