New year, new you, new music. Here’s a list of our top 5 artists who we think you should keep an eye out for and listen to in 2021.

Sody

Sody (Sophie Davidson) released her 6 track EP ‘Real Growth Takes Time‘ in December of 2020 and it blew me away. Sody has an unbelievable way with words, that allows you to feel every emotion. Lead track ‘Butterfly’ is a beautiful blissful tune with stunning vocals. With upbeat piano, Davidson sings: “Been fighting all the time I kinda feel dead inside but you you believe in me.”

The whole EP is so touching and beautifully put together and produced. Sody is one artist I found last year who more than impressed. I cant wait to see her thrive in 2021.

Beabadoobee

Having reached viral stardom with lockdown hit ‘Coffee’ Beabadoobee (Bea Kristi) is soaring to new heights with an impressive full-length album. Bea is a dream, with a melodic voice and exceptional lyricism. Coffee is a sweet, guitar number recorded in the singer-songwriters bedroom in London back in 2017. Her album ‘Fake It Flowers is a grunge-pop melodic experience. Bebadoobee has clearly already proven her talent after praise from Dirty Hit and supporting The 1975 on their tours.

ALFIE Templeman

Singer-songwriter and produce Alfie Templeman works form his bedroom, taking inspiration from Tame Impala. The Bedfordshire singer released ‘Happiness In A Liquid Form in 2020 featuring well-loved tracks ‘Things I Thought Were Mine’ and ‘Obvious Guy. Indie pop’s new face is bold, talented, groovy and someone to truly get excited about and check out in 2021.

Celeste

The 2020 Brit Awards Critics Choice winner is making moves across the globe with her soulful music. She wrote her first song ever at just 16 years old, and is already working with hit maker Finneas, the brother of superstar Billie Eilish whom he regularly writes for. Her 2020 tracks, Hear My Voice and ‘I’m Here’ will touch your heart and melt you as soon as she begins to sing. Celeste is arguably one of the most exciting artists out there at the moment.

The Snuts

With a top 20 EP in 2020, The Snuts are making their way into playlists across the nation with their gritty, energetic records. The bands most recent releases ‘Always‘ and ‘That’s All It Is‘ are rock pop-infused records that remind me of a crossover between Sundara Karma and Primal Scream. Definitely a new, exciting band to get in your Spotify library.
