Whilst this tweet was initially meant to be a joke, it quickly made the rounds on social media, and soon became a well-loved meme.
The more sharp-minded were quick to notice how December 21st is also the date of the annual winter solstice.

This year, the great conjunction is also happening. This is an extremely rare occurrence where Jupiter and Saturn come within 0.1 degrees of one another and create one extremely bright star. This is linked to the Mayan Calendar, and there are rumours this could spell the end of the world as we know it…
