Groundworks released their first ever cypher last night via their YouTube channel. The hour long cypher features some of the hottest names in the UK Drill scene.

The cypher was hosted by YouTube Duo Denz and Renz. On their own channel the pair have 214k subscribers and frequently release reaction videos as well as other content.

The likes of Digga D, Teeway, Trapx10, #TPM (M1llionz, Tugz, Tallerz, M Woo, SkengTrapMob) and #98s (Unknown T, KO, Billy Billions, V9, DA, Mazza, Alchubbino, Jimmy) all featured in the cypher.

Unknown T kicked the cypher off and a few minutes after can be seen performing with Digga D. In an interview with VICE last year, Unknown T said they had made a lot of music whilst away and formed a close friendship. Watching them in the cypher gives us a little taste of the music we could hopefully be hearing from them this year.

Birmingham artist Tugz went in on his part of the cypher. Tugz came onto the scene in 2019 and has been making his way up ever since, he recently featured on Experience alongside fellow Birmingham artists M1llionz, SkengTrapMob and M Woo.

0121 really showed out during the cypher with M1llionz receiving a wheel up within the first 10 minutes. Tugz, Tallerz, M Woo, SkengTrapMob and M1llionz all stood up and represented Birmingham, giving the North West Brummie Drill scene the recognition it deserves.

Billy Billions showcased his talent during the cypher, singing over a Drill beat. This makes him different to other Drill artists, he can be heard singing on Wait A Minute which also features other members from the 98s.

After 98s released their 15 track album Class of 98s back in September 2020, the collective have stayed consistent in the game with their recent Plugged In Freestyle.

All of the artists that feature in the cypher bounce off of each other and show great collaboration. It is rare we as an audience get to see the raw reality behind the edited music we listen to. Every single artist showed why they have excelled in the UK’s Drill scene.
