Radio Presenting & Production with Chris Buckley [Freelance Radio Presenter, Programmer & Trainer]
Chris Buckley has more than thirty years experience in radio, working with some of the UK’s top presenting teams, stations and groups. His career has seen him work across a range of formats, target audiences and presenting styles giving him a true understanding and appreciation of what works best.
Chris began his career at Piccadilly Radio some thirty years ago before moving onto Manchester’s first minority focussed radio station Sunset Radio where he presented the weekday breakfast show. Since then he has worked across major brands such as Heart, Galaxy, The Hits and Signal, and has spent the last 18 months working with Bauer on both their Big City and Hits brands.
He has worked on FM & AM, DAB and online radio as well as with a broad range of on-air talent from well-established breakfast shows to brand new, first time presenters. Chris is a radio programmer with experience across a range of UK companies. He has turned around the fortunes of failing shows, developed brand new talent and launched new stations, brands and even talent academies.
Radio Production with Dari Samuels [Editor at BBC Radio 1Xtra]
Dari is an experienced, versatile multimedia producer, editor, and creative leader with a track record spanning over 10 years. Dari has expert knowledge of hip-hop, r&b music and urban lifestyles. He worked on 1Xtra’s flagship Breakfast Show and MistaJam show which brought in record audience figures. Dari also worked on Radio 1 Life Hacks Podcast, presented by Katie Thistleton and Dr Radha, and tackling challenging and sensitive topics, including eating disorders, depression, identity and sexual health.
Marketing & Social Media With Rohan Sethi [Social Media Manager, BBC Radio 1Xtra]
Rohan is the head of social media for BBC Radio 1Xtra. He started his journey in radio at the age of 13, hosting a weekly youth show on Manchester-based station ALL FM. Rohan has worked on BBC Radio 5 live as a broadcast Assistant, social media producer for BBC One’s ‘A Question of Sport’ and 5 Live’s football phone-in ‘606’. Rohan joined BBC 1Xtra 2 years ago where he is responsible for the day-to-day running of 1Xtra’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook account and planning the social media output for the station’s big events such as 1Xtra Live, 1Xtra Summer and the yearly trip to Jamaica for reggae month.
