Shakka and Washington DC rapper GoldLink have joined forces for the very first time and released ‘Solo‘.

The brand new track is an early summer, wavy new release that is being played on repeat, having garnered over 100k streams in one day.

Produced by Komenz, ‘Solo’ is GoldLink’s first release of the year and Shakka’s second creation of 2021, following the release of ‘When You Pull Up’ in February.

Just in time for the beginning of summer, this new track possesses a smooth afrobeat driven melody, which uplifts the entire lovestruck song.

‘Solo’ combines the best of GoldLink’s vocals and Shakka’s lyrical ability.

This exciting collaboration marks the first time the two artists have worked together and Shakka has stated: “I’m proud of this one, it’s very chill.” The new track comments on different aspects of courtship and young love, which the artist suggests he first encountered in his early teens through listening to Usher’s ‘Confessions’ and Destiny Child’s ‘The Writings on the Wall.’

Shakka is well known for his song-writing abilities which were most recently credited through his GRAMMY win for song-writing on Dua Lipa’s latest album ‘Future Nostalgia.’
