Netflix and Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror creator, released a mockumentary earlier this morning titled “Death to 2020”.
Black Mirror has been a series since 2011. It aired on Channel 4, until Netflix took over in 2016. Each episode hints to technology and socio-political issues.
It is sometimes set in a dystopian future, which is imaginable but not our reality. Many people have commented on how this year has felt like an episode of Black Mirror.
What if….this year is just the latest interactive season of Black Mirror lol

…..but really tho
Black Mirror created a Christmas Special in 2014 titled, “White Christmas” and released their first interactive film “Bandersnatch” in 2018.
Today, “Death to 2020” has been released, a Black Mirror special reportedly intending to mock the state of this year, highlighted by events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The tags on Netflix are “deadpan, cynical and mockumentary“.
Despite the star-studded cast featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Lisa Kudrow, Hugh Grant, Kumail Nanjiani and others, there has been very mixed reviews so far.

Death to 2020 via @netflix – so sorely needed! Hugh Grant, Samuel Jackson, Leslie Jones and Kumail Nanjaini – what's not to love?

Death to 2020 did Hugh Grant a dirty by making him look like the Colonel and I shan't watch it! pic.twitter.com/nWts8e4k20
